ViewSonic claims that the exclusive SuperClear IPS technology will provide vertical and horizontal viewing angles as wide as 178 degrees. It also enhances gray levels when displaying dark colors, resulting in a high contrast ratio capable of displaying “true black” and distinct color depth. The Monitor has Full HD 1920×1080 resolution, 250 cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 (typical) and 20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratios, a 6ms response time, DVI-D and VGA inputs, energy saving in the form of an Eco-mode and will also be eco-friendly with a mercury free LED backlight. The monitor stand has an adjustment option of 20 to -5 degrees tilt.
The VX2336s-LED also has a feature of automatic aspect ratio adjustment for 4:3 signals and ViewSonic claims that it offers 50 percent energy saving compared to a display with fluorescent backlights. The power draw is said to peak at 35W, but can be as low as 21W in eco mode.
ViewSonic’s proprietary Eco-mode function offers three modes from the Standard?100%?, “Optimize (75%)” to “Conserve (60%)” to support the brightness adjustment in different scenarios
What makes the VX2336s-LED interesting though doesn’t really have too much to do with its average feature set, but instead it’s the retail price, as you can pick one up for around US$190 which makes it as one of the cheapest 23-inch IPS panels currently on sale.
